We've updated the popular feature Credit cards that help you avoid those dreaded airline fees to reflect the changes to the National Bank of Canada World Elite Mastercard that kicked in last week. The card's travel reimbursement benefits is now $150 instead of $250 however you don't have the category limitations in place anymore that made it tough for some cardholders to use up the entire $250. There is another Marriott hotel stay bonus here in Canada. This one is for one of their newest hotels that we have featured on Rewards Canada several times over the past few months. That hotel is The Josie Hotel, Autograph Collection at Red Mountain Ski Resort near Rossland B.C.. As a grand opening special they are offering 3,000 bonus points for stays of 2 or more nights. We checked it out and it's one of those offers that borders on being worthwhile or not. Depending on the days booked the bonus point rate ranged from $10 to well over $20 more per night over the Member Flexible Rate. The new Rewards Canada site design is finally here! Today we soft launched a new look on the main Rewards Canada website that is fully responsive so it’ll will work great on mobile, tablets and desktops. Across all those platforms you’ll be able to enjoy the wealth of information we provide on the website without having to zoom or scroll in weird ways. We say soft launch, as seeing that we have 20+ years of content on our website, much of which has HTML that isn't responsive means it's not a quick switch of templates and it will take a bit of time to make sure every page and every feature is updated to the new look.

IHG Rewards is the next hotel loyalty program to provide a further extension on the expiring of points. The email that has been sent out to members this weeks provided the good news that the pause on IHG Rewards points expiry has been moved to December 31, 2022. That's great news that IHG Rewards members will now get an extra year to utilize points (yours truly included as I was set to lose some!). Now only if Radisson Rewards and World of Hyatt will follow suit...

Canada, we asked you to come out and vote for your favourite credit cards and loyalty programs in late September and early October for our Canada's Choice awards. The results are in and we are pleased to present them to you here. For some categories there are no surprises while we were definitely surprised by some others! Marriott Bonvoy’s Week of Wonders are set to return in just under two weeks! Last year the week long promotion saw discounts for shopping through the Marriott Bonvoy Boutique, a bonus for buying Marriott points, a free night offer with Homes & Villas by Marriott International and quite possibly the most popular of them was the award night sale offering Off-Peak pricing at almost all Marriott hotels Worldwide. There is no word just yet as to what will be included this year but based on last year’s offerings you can bet the newest set of credit card offers released last week and the Marriott’s systemwide 1,500 bonus points per stay offer will be promoted as part of the Week of Wonders as well.
