November 3 Update: IHG Rewards further extends the pause on points expiration, 500 bonus points + free parking at the Le Westin Montreal, Black Friday deals are now here

Here's your Rewards Canada Daily update! Your daily dose (or near daily dose) of loyalty program, credit card and travel news, bonuses, deals and more. This update is brought to you by the HSBC World Elite Mastercard which is currently offering a welcome bonus of up to 100,000 bonus points worth $500, has no foreign transaction fees and no annual fee in the first year!

IHG Rewards is the next hotel loyalty program to provide a further extension on the expiring of points. The email that has been sent out to members this weeks provided the good news that the pause on IHG Rewards points expiry has been moved to December 31, 2022. That's great news that IHG Rewards members will now get an extra year to utilize points (yours truly included as I was set to lose some!). Now only if Radisson Rewards and World of Hyatt will follow suit...

Earlier today we provided details of a Marriott Bonvoy bonus offer at the Delta Hotels Dartmouth and we did find one more Canadian stay offer to let you know about. This one doesn't get its own post as it isn't as lucrative. The offer is for stays at the Le Westin Montreal and provides 500 bonus points + free valet parking. Digging deeper you are looking at paying about $31 more per night to get $36 parking (valet or self parking) and $5 worth of points. So you would come $10 ahead with this package. Of course I would only book it if you need parking. Click here for more details and to book this offer

Good news for Air Canada flyers in Newfoundland! St. John's Airport tweeted yesterday that the Air Canada Maple Leaf lounge has reopened! The louge is open from 4am to 7pm every day.

One new American Express Cobalt Card multiplier to let you know about. It looks like The Chopped Leaf (with locations across Western Canada) now accepts American Express and it codes properly on the Cobalt Card as 5x points. It's entirely possibly this has been around for awhile now but we didn't have it on the list and I haven't ate there in a few years so was new to me. Be sure to check out our American Express Cobalt™ Card Confirmed Multiplier Locations to learn more
