While RBC did extend the 35,000 bonus point offers on their consumer Avion cards to April of next year they have decided to end the offer on the Business version on November 30. That means there's only one week left to grab the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Business card with its 35,000 point welcome bonus. As of December 1 that bonus will drop to 25,000 points.
Here are the details of this card:
Annual Fee: $175
Additional Card Fee: $75

- Premium suite of insurances including trip cancellation, trip interruption, travel medical, car rental insurance
- Redeem your points toward your credit card balance using Payback with Points
- Up to a 2.3% return on your spending depending on which reward ticket you book
- Unwritten ability to redeem for Business Class tickets although at a lower rate of return when compared to the Avion Reward chart
Here is what the 35,000 points will get you:
- One economy class flight anywhere in Canada or the U.S. (Hawaii and Alaska excluded) or two economy class flights to a neighbouring province or state when redeeming via the RBC Avion Air Travel Redemption schedule. Taxes and fees are not included but you can redeem points towards them at 100 points to $1 rate or just pay for them with your credit card
- $350 credit towards any other travel booked via RBC Rewards (100 points = $1)
- Convert the 35,000 points to WestJet Rewards at a 100 to 1 ratio. This means the offer provides 350 WestJet dollars. Several times per year RBC also offers a bonus when you transfer to WestJet. That bonus tends to be 10% so these 35,000 points could be converted to 385 WestJet dollars or more if the bonus is higher
- Convert the 35,000 points to British Airways Executive Club at a 1:1 ratio. 35,000 Avios will get you an economy class flight between Toronto and Dublin (as little as 26,000 Avios required) or a whole slew of other flight options. RBC also offers transfer bonuses several times per year and those range from 30% to 50% meaning you could potentially have 52,500 Avios.
- You can also convert to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles at a 1:1 ratio or American AAdvantage Miles at 1:0.7 ratio
If you visit our site often or get our blog posts via a feed you would have just seen us post an update to the Toronto-Dublin flight option in How to score flights to Ireland for as little as $120 plus taxes and fees and here's an excerpt from that post on how this welcome bonus on the RBC Avion cards achieves that:
Only 26,000 Avios for this round-trip - ignore the taxes and fees as you'll pay less when booking over the phone with BA |
RBC Avion Visa Infinite Business - Get 35,000 Welcome Points upon Approval when you apply by November 30, 2022Those 35,000 points which are awarded right away can be converted 1:1 to British Airways so you would come out with one round trip flight in Economy Class and have points left over. The card costs $175 so you essentially get that one flight for $175 plus taxes and fees. Out of all the cards the RBC Avion card provides the fastest route to getting one ticket since the bonus is awarded upon approval.
This is a pretty good offer considering there is no spending required at all other than paying your $175 annual fee.
