A couple of weeks ago we posted an Award Availability Alert for Air France KLM Flying Blue's program. This alert showed you how you can fly from Canada to Europe, Turkey, and North Africa for only 15,000 to 20,000 miles one way in economy class. These redemption amounts represent a nice discount of what you would normally require to redeem for economy class flights. One question that we were asked on numerous occasions was "When will this unpublished discounted offer end" and we finally have an answer for you: It won't.

Air France KLM Seat Sale: Fly from Canada to Europe and beyond from $749 in economy or $3,046 in business class

Air France and KLM have launched a three week long sale for their flights out of Canada that sees some pretty decent fares in economy, premium economy and business class. The offers must be booked by September 20 for travel between September 18, 2022 and June 17, 2023. The sale is something to look into if you don't have enough Flying Blue Miles / American Express Membership Rewards points to take advantage of the economy class reward flight deal the airlines have right now. Right now you can book reward tickets between Canada and Europe with Air France KLM's Flying Blue for as little as 30,000 miles round trip! As first pointed out south of the border by TPG and later by Frequent Miler there is tons of availability between the US and Europe at 15,000 miles each way so we decided to check if the same holds true for Canadian departures. And it does. You can fly to many cities in Europe in Economy Class from Montreal, Quebec City or Toronto for only 15,000 Flying Blue Miles one way or 30,000 round trip. Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver departures see these flights at 20,000 Flying Blue Miles one way or 40,000 round trip.

Flair Airlines will be switching their Los Angeles area flights from Hollywood Burbank to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX The airline's flights from Vanouver and Edmonton will switch on October 31. The airline will also be adding a new 2 times per week flight between Toronto and Cancun for the upcoming winter season. (Source Flair Airlines)

A week ago today Air France flew the inaugural flight to their fourth city in Canada, Quebec City. To celebrate this new route they are now offering triple Flying Blue Miles to anywhere Air France flies as long as you depart from or arrive at Quebec City! The new route to Paris operates 3x weekly and you can earn the bonus if you book by June 24 for travel until August 24, 2022. Air France unveiled a new business class seat that the airline will be adding it to a dozen of their 40+ Boeing 777-300 aircraft. The new fully lie flat seats will provide direct aisle access and have a sliding door for privacy. The planes will also see new Premium Economy and Economy seats installed to bring these cabins up to date. The new seats will be initially available on their New York JFK route this fall and since the 777-300 is sometimes used on their Montreal to Paris CDG route as well so it is possible the new seats could be on this route as well - at least on occasion! Another Ultimate Portfolio update to let you know about - this time we updated updated The Ultimate Foodie Credit Card Portfolio! With this portfolio you would earn no less than a 4% return on all your foodie purchases. This was a more substantial update as 2 of the 3 cards were switched! Air France KLM have once again brought out their best ever bonus for buying Flying Blue Miles  and that bonus is up to 100%. When you buy at the 100% level each Flying Blue Miles will cost you about 1.53 US cents each or about CAD 1.97 cents. This can be a great deal especially when you redeem the miles for one of their monthly Promo Reward tickets (which unfortunately have no Canadian cities included this month).

Air France KLM Flying Blue announced a new family pooling option to the program today. Similar to family pooling programs from Air Canada Aeroplan, British Airways Executive Club and other airline programs, Flying Blue members can now set up a "Flying Blue Family" for up to 8 people to share/pool miles so that it can be easier to get to an award. KLM has brought back their Dream Deals offers for departures out of Canada! This seat sale sees round trip economy class fare being offered for as little as $676 all in (Toronto-London). The sale covers KLM destinations in Europe, Africa and Asia. The business class fares however are some of the lowest we have seen in long time from KLM! 

Award Availability Alert: Montreal to Paris round trip business class for only 106K to 112K American Express Membership Rewards points

 
At the beginning of the month we brought you the details of the latest Air France KLM Flying Blue promo rewards which included economy class flights between Montreal and Europe. Turns out that even though they have only listed it as 'Economy' on the Promo Rewards page they are also offering discounted business class tickets! A few U.S. blogs noticed this over the past week or so for U.S. departures (I believe Frequent Miler may have been first?) and I have been meaning to check it out for Montreal. And sure enough there are some days that you can book for 39,750 miles each way in Business Class.
