Big changes coming to the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card and other TD cards

Big news from TD today as they are making changes to several cards in the credit card portfolio. The changes range from minor to major and I won't bore you with a long introduction as there is lots to cover in the post so I'll just get down it:

The TD® First Class Travel® Visa Infinite* Card is currently offering a welcome bonus of up to 100,000 points along with an annual fee rebate for the primary and additional cardholders for the first year. Not only does this continue to be the best ever bonus seen on the card it is also one of the highest flexible point card bonuses in market right now with a nice low spend requirement! This offer runs until October 29, 2022.

Top 5 Small Business Credit Card Sign Up offers for July - These cards provide the best value out of their welcome bonuses

The new TD credit card offers are out - earn up to 105,000 Aeroplan Points or 100,000 TD Points with these latest offers

This is simply a quick summary post of the new TD credit card offers that were just revealed for all you night owls out there. We will follow this up with some more detailed blog posts on each offer but for those of you who can't wait until then here is what is up for grabs:

Starbucks and TD expand relationship to reward virtually all TD credit and debit cardholders

In late 2020 when the new Aeroplan program was revealed there was one piece of the news that didn't garner too much of the attention. This wasn't surprising given the sheer breadth of everything that came out from Air Canada and its partners in regards to the new Aeroplan program. That piece of the news was a limited time bonus that only the TD Aeroplan co-brand credit cards had with Starbucks. All of those cards would receive 50% bonus Aeroplan points on Starbucks purchases for a whole year and then that promotion kept being extended until February 14, 2022. And now we know why that was the end date - that's due to this becoming a permanent benefit not only on the Aeroplan cards but virtually all TD debit and credit cards as of today!

Over the course of this year we have had several articles covering credit cards in Canada that we feel are due for an overhaul. It all started out with our first post way back in January - initially we wanted to cover all five cards in that post however we wrote so much about the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card we decided to split up the articles and now three quarters of the year later we finish off the series for this year. The fifth and final card we are going to look that we feel is in need of a revamp/update/overhaul is the TD® First Class Travel® Visa Infinite* Card.

The third and final card from TD to receive a best ever welcome bonus offer is their proprietary rewards card the TD® First Class Travel® Visa Infinite* Card. As of today we see its bonus jump from 60,000 to 100,000 points! This is 10,000 more than the previous 90K high seen on the card in 2019 and 2020. Technically speaking this offer is actually 20K higher since those 90K offers required adding a supplementary card to earn 10,000 points. That's not the case here. This time the bonus is awarded strictly on the first purchase as 20,000 points and 80,000 more points when you spend $1,000 in first three months. On top of this there is an annual fee rebate for the primary and additional cardholders for the first year. This offer runs until December 5, 2021.

Last week TD formally announced the option for the TD Rewards program whereby you can shop with points on Amazon. The feature soft launched back in October and last week's press release from TD marks the official launch of the redemption option. This is the same feature American Express offers for those who are familiar with it. All of TD's credit cards that earn TD Rewards Points (like the First Class Visa Infinite card) are eligible and it allows cardholders to link their rewards account with Amazon so that they can redeem points right at check out from Amazon.ca. Per this thread on RFD the redemption rate is 303 points for $1. Learn more about the redemption option here.
