30% bonus when you convert hotel points to United MileagePlus Miles

United has brought back their bonus for converting hotel points to MileagePlus miles. The bonus for this iteration of the promotion is 30% and you are allowed to earn a maximum of 25,000 bonus miles across all your transfers. Really the only transfer that can make sense is converting Marriott Bonvoy points since they transfer at a a 3 to 1.1 ratio. You’ll also want to do it in 60,000 point batches to ensure you get the extra miles from Marriott. All other hotel programs have pretty terrible conversion ratios however if you have orphaned points in those programs that you know you’ll never use, then by all means convert them over so you can get something of value from them.

There is one more new Marriott Hotel set to open this year now. The Residence Inn Laval has popped up on Marriott's website and right now they are stating an opening date of December 2022. If you recall from our post on New Marriott Hotel Openings in Canada for 2022 the year started off with just 6 new hotels planned for this year. This is now the ninth hotel on the list however it does not appear that the Moxy Banff or Moxy Halifax will make their opening this year now so we may me end up with seven new hotels for this year. Aeroplan stopovers now bookable online on Air Canada's website

A very popular redemption option for the Aeroplan program just became easier to book. The stopover option, where you can pay 5,000 points to stopover in an extra city on an itinerary outside of Canada and the U.S., has only been bookable by calling into Aeroplan but as of today Air Canada has launched a beta test for the stopover option for online bookings.

Aeroplan Availability Alert: Canada to Bangkok in economy class from 45,000 points each way

Air Canada has revealed a promotion that is guaranteeing a certain amount of reward seats on their new flight to Bangkok, Thailand. This promotion is available for bookings until September 6 for travel January 9 to April 17, 2023.

Buy or gift Aeroplan Points with an 85% bonus

 
Aeroplan has come out with another buy or gift points promotion where you can earn an 85% bonus. . This offer runs until September 3, 2022 and allows members to buy up to 500,000 points per transaction up to the annual limit of 1 million points. If you buy 15,000 or more points you will earn the 85% bonus. Compared to the last buy points offer this is better as the lower tiers had lower bonuses but that's not the case this time!
