Earn 100 Aeroplan Points for every $5 donated to the Canadian Red Cross + a chance to win 250K Aeroplan Points

During the month of September if you donate to the Canadian Red Cross you will earn Aeroplan points for doing so. Members will earn 100 points for every $5 donated and if you donate $100 or more you'll also be entered for a chance to win one of two 250,000 Aeroplan points prizes. This offer runs until Sep 30. 22. Note that you will not receive a tax receipt for donations that earn Aeroplan points.

Aeroplan stopovers now bookable online on Air Canada's website

A very popular redemption option for the Aeroplan program just became easier to book. The stopover option, where you can pay 5,000 points to stopover in an extra city on an itinerary outside of Canada and the U.S., has only been bookable by calling into Aeroplan but as of today Air Canada has launched a beta test for the stopover option for online bookings.

Credit Card Review: TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card

One of the most popular travel rewards credit cards in Canada, the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card was first reviewed by Rewards Canada in 2014 when it was introduced. For the better part of six years the card didn't change very much but then we saw the entire Air Canada Aeroplan saga transpire for numerous years which culminated in Air Canada buying Aeroplan back from Aimia and launching a whole new Aeroplan in November of 2020 along with refreshed credit card offerings. This mainstay Aeroplan card from TD underwent many changes for the new program and thus the need for this updated review.

You can now earn and redeem Aeroplan points for flights on Mexico's Aeromar

As of today Air Canada Aeroplan members are able to earn and redeem Aeroplan points on Mexico's Aeromar. I believe this is to be the 11th new airline Aeroplan has added to their partner roster since June of 2020 (I've kind of lost count now) and 48th airline partner overall. Aeromar is one of Mexico's largest regional airlines serving over 20 cities in Mexico, Texas and Cuba. 

 

Limited time offer: Earn up to 3 Aeroplan Points per dollar spent on Air Canada Gift Cards

Air Canada has brought back a limited time offer where you can earn extra Aeroplan points for buying Air Canada gift cards. The offer is available until June 19th and will award 1 point/$ spent on gift cards up to $750 and 3 points/$ if you spend over $750. Do note these don't code as Air Canada purchases on your credit card as they are processed by Buyatab so you won't earn extra points on the Aeroplan suite of co-brand credit cards or any credit card that has a travel accelerator. 

Earn up to 3x Aeroplan points on Air Canada flights within Canada

Air Canada has a new flight bonus offer for Aeroplan members travelling within Canada this summer and into early fall. This offer awards up to 3x Aeroplan points depending on which fare class you buy. You must register for this offer and book flights between June 8 and June 21 for travel until October 31, 2022

20% bonus when you convert Marriott Bonvoy points to Air Canada Aeroplan points

For the first time since 2019 we see a Marriott transfer bonus being provided by Air Canada's Aeroplan! Until the end of the month you can choose to convert your Marriott Bonvoy points to Air Canada Aeroplan and you'll receive a 20% bonus. The bonus kicks in when you convert at least 3,000 points from Marriott but ideally you'll want to convert in 60,000 point increments if you can the earn the additional bonus that Marriott provides. This is the second hotel transfer bonus for the Aeroplan program this month as Coast Hotels is offering 3x points when you convert Coast Rewards points to Aeroplan.

Another Ultimate Portfolio update to let you know about - this time we updated The Ultimate "I have no idea what travel rewards I want" Credit Card portfolio! Buy or gift Aeroplan Points with up to an 85% bonus

Aeroplan's has come out with another buy or gift points promotion where you can earn up to an 85% bonus. This tiered offer sees bonuses ranging from 50% to 85% dependent on how many points you buy. This offer runs until May 20, 2022 and allows members to buy up to 500,000 points per transaction up to the annual limit of 1 million points. If you buy 5,000 to 19,000 points you'll earn a 50% bonus, 20,000 to 45,000 points will earn a 60% bonus, 50,000 to 60,000 you'll get a 70% bonus and 70,000+ will earn the 85%.

You can now convert Aeroplan Points to Starbucks Rewards Stars - but should you?

Air Canada Aeroplan and Starbucks Rewards took their partnership one step further today with the option to now convert Aeroplan Points to Starbucks Stars. Aeroplan points can be redeemed at a rate of 1,000 points for 200 Starbucks Rewards Stars, up to a maximum of 10,000 Aeroplan points in one transaction. I know many of you will be asking is this good deal? So let's take a look to see if it is worth it to convert your points.

Earn up to 105,000 bonus Aeroplan Points with the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card

This past March TD came out with new welcome offers on most of their credit cards including the  TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card.  For this card they went away from the Buddy Pass offer and moved to an all points offer. That offer provides up to 105,000 bonus Aeroplan points which is a new record high offer in terms of the number of points awarded. To celebrate Mother's Day, Aeroplan is offering up to 5X points for shopping at select retailers via the Aeroplan eStore.  The offer runs until May 8 and includes retailers such as Sephora, The Body Shop, Simons and more. 

Earn Triple Aeroplan Points on Uber rides until May 20

 
Right now Aeroplan members who have linked their Aeroplan accounts to their Uber accounts can earn triple points on rides until May 20. I received the offer via an Aeroplan email over the weekend however I cannot find any offer details on the Aeroplan site which made me think at first it was a targeted offer however the terms and conditions in the email seem to imply this is open to all members. There is also no registration required so I would assume all members who do have their accounts linked will earn the triple points.

One area that many loyalty programs don't do very well in is letting their members know when a partnership of theirs is ending. Such was the case here as we had no idea of this news until Randy S. told us on our Facebook page that Home Hardware is no longer a partner where you can earn Air Canada Aeroplan points. Air Canada has launched an Aeroplan Award flight sale for travel to select destinations in Europe. This sale provides up to a 20% discount in the points required to redeem for flights when you book by April 12. The discount and travel dates vary by location as listed below.

Buy or gift Aeroplan Points with up to a 100% bonus

Aeroplan's has come out with another buy or gift points promotion where you can earn up to a 100% bonus. This tiered offer sees bonuses ranging from 50% to 100% dependent on how many points you buy. This offer runs until March 22, 2022 and allows members to buy up to 350,000 points per transaction up to the annual limit of 1 million points. If you buy 5,000 to 19,000 points you'll earn a 50% bonus, 20,000 to 55,000 points will earn a 65% bonus, 60,000 to 90,000 you'll get a 80% bonus and 100,000+ will earn the 100%.

Air Canada has a new flight bonus offer for Aeroplan members travelling out of Canada or the U.S.. The bonus offers up to 10,000 bonus Aeroplan points on flights between Canada or the U.S. and select in Europe. As is standard with Aeroplan flight promotions, flights booked prior to the launch of this promotion on March 2 are not eligible to earn the bonus.
