Air Canada Aeroplan Priority Rewards examples from a Super Elite Member with an Aeroplan co-brand credit card

Here we have a follow up to our first Aeroplan Priority Rewards post from earlier this month where we looked at Priority Rewards from the perspective of a 50K elite member. Now, thanks to Rewards Canada reader Dat N. we have examples of Priority Rewards for a Super Elite member with an Aeroplan co-brand card. The combination of being a top tier elite member and holding an Aeroplan credit provides the biggest point discount available for Aeroplan reward flights. On top of this being a Super Elite member means the Priority Rewards received can be used on any fare class up to Business/Signature to any destination that Air Canada flies to Worldwide.

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards is offering all of their Five Star and President’s Circle members the opportunity to gift equivalent status to one family member or friend. The status that is gifted will be valid for one year from January 31, 2021 to January 31, 2022.

WestJet Rewards has formally extended the validity of companion vouchers again! Vouchers issued from WestJet RBC Mastercards are being extended to June 30, 2021 while Elite Tier Milestone awards are being extended to the end of 2021.

Summary of global hotel systemwide bonus points promotions – December Edition

 
Here is your monthly update of all the global hotel bonus points promotions that are available. One of the easiest ways to rack up lots of hotel points is to take advantage of these systemwide bonuses that come from many of the big chain programs and also from the lesser known programs. In fact, right now it should be rare for you NOT to earn a bonus. Unless you are staying at a boutique hotel or perhaps an independent hotel most other hotels out there have a bonus. So take advantage of it! These systemwide bonuses simply require you to register beforehand and they do not affect hotel pricing as long as you book a point eligible rate which are most rates out there. Of course booking through a third party site like Expedia or Rocketmiles does not count as most chains only award points on bookings that are made directly with them. Last week TD formally announced the option for the TD Rewards program whereby you can shop with points on Amazon. The feature soft launched back in October and last week's press release from TD marks the official launch of the redemption option. This is the same feature American Express offers for those who are familiar with it. All of TD's credit cards that earn TD Rewards Points (like the First Class Visa Infinite card) are eligible and it allows cardholders to link their rewards account with Amazon so that they can redeem points right at check out from Amazon.ca. Per this thread on RFD the redemption rate is 303 points for $1. Learn more about the redemption option here.

We don't cover Starbucks Rewards very often here on Rewards Canada, in fact the last time I wrote about them was when the program was going through changes early in 2019 (read that post here) that were for the most part worse than better. However I've been meaning to write about the program, well more so about my favourite redemption for sometime now and am I finally getting around to it.

 We have another player in the credit card offers market and by offers we mean discounts or statement credits! By now you are probably very familiar with Amex Offers and RBC Offers as we do give them a lot of coverage here on Rewards Canada. We have also touched upon BMO who also has the occasional offer but nowhere near the extent of Amex or RBC - now we also have HSBC. They have their own offers for some of their Mastercards (primarily the higher end ones) and those offers can be found on this page on their site.

Coming Soon: 15% bonus Cathay Pacific Asia Miles when you convert points from American Express, HSBC or RBC

 
Set an alert in your calendars for December 28 if you are someone who utilizes Cathay Pacific's Asia Miles program. On that date they will be launching a bonus for converting points from their global credit cards partners! The bonus will be 15% and from the way I understand it all of their partners are included and it eclipses the 10% bonus we saw around the same time last year.  Note this is for conversion from credit card partners not for cards that actually earn Asia Miles like the RBC Cathay Pacific Visa Platinum Card. In reality though that card isn't very popular Canada where as the cards that really count that will earn this bonus are extremely popular!
