25% Bonus on American Express Membership Rewards Points Transfers to Etihad Airways Guest

Great news for American Express Cardholders in Canada who like to transfer their Membership Rewards Points to Etihad Airways' Guest program! Right now you'll get a 25% bonus on all transfers until March 11th. This appears to be a promotion from Etihad Guest not Amex as you won't find any details on Amex's website about the offer.

Normally the transfer rate 1,000 Membership Rewards Points for 750 Guest Miles. With this promotion that is bumped to 937 miles (or 938 as we're not sure if Etihad will round up or down) for every 1,000 points. If you own the American Express Gold Rewards Card this means your rate of return jumps based in the 2 points per dollar on select categories or roughly 1.9 Etihad Guest Miles per dollar spent including the bonus. Still it may not be as good 1:1 ratio we see with Aeroplan or British Airways Executive Club however Etihad does have some great short haul redemptions in the Middle East, we're talking only 4,000 or 5,000 miles each way. So if business or pleasure takes you to the U.A.E. and you want to jump  on a quick visit to Bahrain, Muscat or other cities this could be the way to go!

The beVancouver American Express Gift Card offer is back for the Spring. This is the now famous offer where you book select Vancouver hotels via the beVancouver site and land up to a $125 Amex Prepaid Gift card for your first night and $50 for each additional night. The offer is good for up to three bookings until April 30 but be warned that all stays are prepaid and non-refundable so only book the offer if you know you are going to complete your stay! WestJet announced last week that that entered into a code-share agreement with Philippine Airlines. Code-share designations will be available on select WestJet flights from Vancouver and Toronto. (Source WestJet)

Scotiabank Gold American Express Cardholders skip the line at Lake Louise Ski Resort in February

Scotiabank launched an interesting promotion for the month of February (sorry we're late, we didn't learn about it until Feb 11 and of course that was when we were on vacation) for holders of the Scotiabank Gold American Express card. 

The promotion allows cardholders to skip the chairlift line at the world famous Lake Louise ski resort on Satudays. Think of it like the Priority Boarding for airlines when you have elite status but for chair lifts! Definitely an interesting promotion to appease current cardholders and to attract new cardholders as people who are not currently Scotiabank credit card holders can sign up for a Scotia Gold Amex onsite and be instantly eligible for a pass. So you still have two Saturdays to take advantage of this offer and enjoy some great skiing (and hopefully the great weather we've been having in Alberta will continue for those days!)

They also have complimentary warming tent for cardholders with free hot cocoa!

Air Canada is on fire with flight bonus offers right now! First we had the select domestic/transborder offer from almost two weeks ago, then the Europe bonus from the weekend and now this bonus for Transpacific flights to Japan! Great KLM Business Class Sale for flights between Canada and Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia

The twice annual KLM Business Class sale is back and we're seeing fares lower than in 2014!! This is a much anticipated sale for many including my parents who just booked YYC-PRG for $3,299 all in. Last year it was $200-$300 more than that. The great thing about this sale is that it is even good for travel over the extremely busy summer season. Fares start as low as $2899 for Eastern Canada departures to Europe and $3299 for travel out of Western Canada.
