  1. Well, well, well. Obviously TO is the centre of the universe, as all but one destination from there counts in this bonus. Montreal scores just behind because that is the base for AC. Lowly Calgary has two destinations, and for heaven's sake, the Maritimes just one. Another instance of favouritism for the east, but not too far east.

  2. I don't know if I would call it favouritism in this case! Air Canada has put a bonus on all of their direct routes to Europe from Canada. For example they don't fly a direct route from Toronto to Nice so that is why it isn't checked off on the chart and they only have two European routes out of YYC. If you choose AC to fly to Nice from say YYC there is a good chance you'll connect via YUL and then get the bonus on the YUL-NCE portion.

  3. Oh, I see what you mean. I guess that shows why I fly to Europe with KLM. Direct YYC to AMS, which is a great hub as well a superb stopover. I would never fly to TO or Montreal on the way to Europe. I would miss the polar route time advantage from Calgary if I did that. Also incurs more fees every time you touch down.

  4. The KLM YYC-AMS flight is definitely a great route!
