There has been some news about this offer for the past few weeks but we refrained from posting it as Hilton was having technical issues with it but last week they finally fixed some bugs and now have it working. It is a pretty simple offer to take advantage of, as all you have to do is update your password in your Hilton HHonors account by March 25th and you should get 1,000 points. This is a great way to extend the validity of your Hilton HHonors account if you are not someone who stays at Hilton branded hotels often!

Also in the bonus offer section is a short bonus from Best Western as they have a customer appreciation bonus next week. Simply register and you'll earn 1,000 bonus Reward points for stays between March 23 and 27.

Pingaling posted the following comment on our post from January on the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card - 25,000 Bonus Aeroplan Miles and First Year Free!

"Looks like the technical issue is back. Site application kept running a loop - aeroplan details, td login, select card, back to aeroplan details, etc..etc.."

We talked to TD about this and here is their response:

"There is one issue that we know about, when existing TD customers are logged into Easyweb and are unable to proceed with completing an application. The target fix date for this issue is April 9th.

If this issue is happening to those who are not TD customers/logged into Easyweb, let me know if there are any further details (such as which step, what the error message is) so we can flag the issue for a fix.

In the meantime, if customers are still having trouble with the online application, I would recommend that they call our Credit Card Call Centre at 1-800-983-8472 and mention the Aeroplan offer on Rewards Canada with the code REPWQ. The phone rep will have to input this code so that we can fulfill the offer for the customer"

So if this is not the issue you are seeing, please comment below at what step or what the error message is so that we can pass it along to TD.

Aeroplan has launched a new initiative for its members called Goal Setter at  www.aeroplan.com/goals

The idea is to help members reach their goals by offering them targeted opporunties to earn more miles. I tested the site out, chose a Paris trip with family for a fall escape.

Once I did that the site let me know that Aeroplan will do all they can to reach that goal.

The one thing I noticed however is that the form didn't ask how many family members are travelling or it didn't ask if we wanted to fly economy or business class. I would find these types of questions would be beneficial as I would like my family of 4 to fly in business class which means a minimum of 360,000 Aeroplan Miles whereas another family might be 5 members and they want economy class which means 300,000 Aeroplan miles. Without knowing this Aeroplan may not be able to help reach that goal! You can test this out and set your own goals at www.aeroplan.com/goal

Marriott Hotels will introduce Apple Pay at 11 of their locations in the U.S. this summer. Not a huge note for us Canadians yet but if rumours hold true we should have access to Apple Pay later this year which will change everything and make this real news for us. (Source tnooz)

Delta Airlines has introduced a new pay with miles upgrade system which matches their whole move to a revenue based system. Upgrades on flights wholly within the 50 U.S. states can be upgraded with miles at a rate of .01 per mile per their example on their site. Not a great use of miles and also not too important to us yet as this is strictly for itinerairies within the U.S. (Source View from the Wing)

Mar 10 Update: Delta SkyMiles latest changes won't affect Canadians much, BMO AIR Miles MC up to 500 miles, 400 Free Fortune Wings Miles

Delta SkyMiles announced more updates to their program yesterday. They are all good for once! However for us Canadians there is really only one of the three updates that really matters unless you are redeeming for short haul reward travel within the U.S. or from the U.S. to select Mexican and Caribbena markets. That is point number one below, short haul flights from Canada like Vancouver and Calgary to Seattle or Toronto and Montreal to New York are not included so it is really only for the flights we mention above. Point #2 is the main one that affects us, they claim better availability on award redemption via delta.com. A nice update if it holds true. The last point doesn't affect us as Canadian's do not have to have MQDs to qualify for Delta Medallion status.

• New One-Way Award tickets beginning as low as 10,000 miles plus taxes and fees, available through Dec. 31, 2015 for travel in select U.S., Mexican and Caribbean markets. Customers can now fly to several popular Award destinations with a 21-day minimum advance purchase.
• Improved Award redemption by expanding the number of airline partners that SkyMiles members can select to redeem for Award Travel on delta.com. Delta recently updated the Fly Delta app to give customers the ability to book Award travel from mobile devices. Since January, Delta has offered customers the ability to book SkyMiles Award travel through the Fly Delta app.
• Customers can now earn MQDs, regardless of ticketing carrier, for travel on most of Delta's airline partners, which will help them achieve Medallion status faster. SkyMiles members will receive retroactive credit of MQDs on eligible partner flights dating back to the beginning of the qualification year, Jan. 1, 2015. MQD earning varies based on carrier and percentage of distance flown as determined by Delta and fare class paid.

In the bonus offers section there are a couple new increased sign up bonuses for credit cards. Both the BMO AIR MILES MasterCard and the TD Aeroplan Visa Business Card have had their bonuses upped.

Also check out the new Hong Kong Airlines sign up offer, you can get 400 Fortune Wings Miles for free. May not be of much use unless you plan on flying them or Hainan Airlines regularily (Hainan does fly to Toronto)

Air Canada St. Patrick's Day Promotion - Earn your share of 10 Million Aeroplan Miles for AC bookings (min 500 miles)

This is one of those promotions you don't know if you want to share as the more people who use it the less miles you get but if we don't pass it along then there is a chance you wouldn't get any bonus miles at all! Air Canada is running a St. Patrick's Day promotion whereby all bookings made from today until St. Patrick's Day (March 17) that are completed by May 31st will earn a share a 10 Million Aeroplan Miles with a minimum 500 miles per booking. Depending on how many bookings are made you know that you'll get at least 500 miles but it could be higher. For example if there are only 10,000 bookings you'll all see a 1,000 miles bonus.  To earn the booking bonus you have to use the promo code STPATRICK2015.
