Mar 11 Update: Aeroplan Goal Setter, Movenpick sale for Easter stays in Europe, up to 4x Miles for Wyndham stays

Aeroplan has launched a new initiative for its members called Goal Setter at  www.aeroplan.com/goals

The idea is to help members reach their goals by offering them targeted opporunties to earn more miles. I tested the site out, chose a Paris trip with family for a fall escape.

Once I did that the site let me know that Aeroplan will do all they can to reach that goal.

The one thing I noticed however is that the form didn't ask how many family members are travelling or it didn't ask if we wanted to fly economy or business class. I would find these types of questions would be beneficial as I would like my family of 4 to fly in business class which means a minimum of 360,000 Aeroplan Miles whereas another family might be 5 members and they want economy class which means 300,000 Aeroplan miles. Without knowing this Aeroplan may not be able to help reach that goal! You can test this out and set your own goals at www.aeroplan.com/goal

Marriott Hotels will introduce Apple Pay at 11 of their locations in the U.S. this summer. Not a huge note for us Canadians yet but if rumours hold true we should have access to Apple Pay later this year which will change everything and make this real news for us. (Source tnooz)

Delta Airlines has introduced a new pay with miles upgrade system which matches their whole move to a revenue based system. Upgrades on flights wholly within the 50 U.S. states can be upgraded with miles at a rate of .01 per mile per their example on their site. Not a great use of miles and also not too important to us yet as this is strictly for itinerairies within the U.S. (Source View from the Wing)
