From having the best airline lounge access to hotel elite status to annual travel credits, the cards are a traveller's dream. However, one of the benefits that can be found on these cards that doesn't seem to get much attention is the International Airline Program. Also known as IAP, this benefit provides discounts for flying on some of the world's best airlines in premium cabins but it also provides discounts for economy class tickets on WestJet!

Scene+ changes redemption method for movies at Cineplex & three new Amex Offers out this week

Scene+ sent out an email yesterday notifying members of a change in the redemption option for movies at Cineplex starting August 11. They are getting rid of the flat rate redemptions (1,250 to 2,500 points) and moving it inline with most other Scene+ redemptions of 100 points to $1. This will allow members to complete partial redemptions for movies in effect providing a discount or if you have enough points you can redeem for the full amount of the movie ticket.

Miles & More Mileage Bargains - Big mileage discounts of 50% or more between Montreal or Toronto & Europe

The latest set of Miles & More Mileage Bargains (Meilenschnaeppchen) discounted mileage awards are here for this month. This month we only have two Canadian cities included and those are Montreal and Toronto.

That brings us to the offers and they are as follows.  The award flights must be booked by August 31, 2022.

Austrian
Travel between Montreal and Austria in Business Class. Valid for travel Nov 15 - Dec 31, 2022. 

Lufthansa
Travel between Toronto and Europe or Turkey in Business Class. Valid for travel Nov 15 - Dec 31, 2022.

With this month's offer you can redeem Miles & More miles for round trip business class tickets for 55,000 miles. This is a ~51% discount over the regular amount of miles required for these tickets.

There are really only two options for Canadians to redeem for these and the best option here is if you are already a Miles & More member who has been collecting miles and have enough in your account to take advantage of these offers. The second option is to convert points from Radisson Rewards with a conversion rate that is terrible, at 10 points to 1 mile.

We see the return of an IHG Rewards' buy points bonus flash sale this week.  This time it is a flat 100% bonus for all members who  purchase 5,000 or more points at a time. For this promotion they have not raised the annual limit of points that you can buy which means you can buy 150,000 points (not including the bonus)

Aeroplan Availability Alert: Business Class on Austrian Airlines out of Montreal for up to 4 or more people for Winter 2022/2023 travel

 
Spencer at Straight to the Points sent out another alert about business class tickets for up to 4 people being available on Austrian Airlines and since the airline is a Star Alliance member you can use your Aeroplan points to redeem for these flights. Availability is showing from November 2022 through to March 2023 for flights to Vienna and beyond. Perfect timing to visit all the Christmas markets! Aeroplan charges 70,000 points each way for partner award flights in business class plus the $39 partner award booking fee.

Earn 15% cash back for the first 2 months with the Tangerine Money-Back or World Mastercard

Tangerine has brought back what could be considered the bigger cash back bonus ever - percent wise that is!  Both the Tangerine Money-Back Credit Card and the Tangerine World Mastercard see the return of their 15% cash back offers that we first saw in fall of 2021! Until September 30th when you apply for and are approved for either of these Tangerine cards you'll be able to earn 15% cash back on all purchases in the first 2 months. The 15% is capped on $1,000 of purchases for a total cash back reward of $150. After that 15% cap is hit or after 2 months the regular earn rate of up to 2% cash back kicks in.
