November 8 Update: Best Western extending status for those who hit a new elite level in 2021, Emirates Vacations launches in Canada & another online shopping bonus

A closer look at the credit card that Canada voted as the number one Ultra Premium Card

 

The results of Canada's Choice 2021 were revealed last month covering 10 categories of credit cards and loyalty with some surprising and not so surprising results. The fifth and final card we look is the card that took the top spot in the Ultra Premium Card category and that's The Platinum Card®  from American Express.

The highest welcome bonus for non-American Express Cash Back cards has been 10% cash back on up to $2,000 of spending ($200 cash back) for sometime now. A buy points bonus for Marriott Bonvoy has returned and this time it is a 45% bonus across the board.  The bonus is awarded on purchases from 2,000 to 100,000 points and that 100,000 is a doubling of the typical 50,000 point annual limit for buying points.
