Aeroplan joins Chase Ultimate Rewards + a waitlist bonus for the new Chase Aeroplan Card (U.S. only)

In December 2020 Air Canada Aeroplan and Chase announced they would be launching a new partnership in 2021 that would see Chase issue an Aeroplan co-brand credit card for the U.S. market and see Aeroplan become a transfer partner of Chase Ultimate Rewards. It is the latter that officially kicks off today as Aeroplan is now part of Chase Ultimate Rewards. While the co-brand card hasn't been released just yet they have opened up a special wait list offer for it that you can register for starting today.

Here are the latest RBC Offers including up to $25 in credits for The Keg and 5,000 bonus points with Petro-Canada

 
The last half of July saw a handful of new RBC offers being released which have now been added to our Guide to RBC Offers.

Be sure to login to your RBC account right away to load these offers (if required) or get the promo codes if required. Personally I received these offers on the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard but I know most if not all should also available for RBC's most popular card the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card and most other RBC cards.

Air Canada Aeroplan is running a 'Back to School' event where you can earn up to 7x points for shopping online at select retailers via Aeroplan's eStore. This offer runs until August 15 with retailers like Indigo being 5x points, HP Small Business at 7x points and Foot Locker offering 4x points.

Air France KLM Flying Blue Promo Rewards return! Save 25% on Economy class reward flights from Calgary, Montreal & Vancouver to Europe

 

After 18 months we see the return of Air France KLM Flying Blue's Promo Rewards to Canada! Due to the pandemic and shut down of international travel for the greater part of that time these discounted award flight offers have mostly been limited to flights within Europe and to French/Dutch overseas possessions over the past 8-10 months. But as of this month we see the return of offers for North America as there are Canadian and Mexican cities in the mix.

Great Marriott Bonvoy PointSavers rates for stays at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Guelph

 
The Fairfield Inn and Suites in Guelph Ontario is promoting the fact they have Marriott Bonvoy PointSavers availability until September 2nd. PointsSavers are discounted award nights in the Bonvoy program that provide some decent point savings when redeeming points for those free nights. You can save even more if those PointSavers happen to fall on nights where the hotel is offering Off Peak awards. So we decided to check out this offer for this hotel in Southwestern Ontario.

July 29 Update: Aeroplan extends generous refund & rebooking policy + Air Canada adds more flights out of Quebec City

Air Canada Aeroplan has updated their refund and rebooking policy by extending it to August 31:

Aeroplan flight rewards booked through August 31, 2021 can be changed or cancelled free of charge, at any time.  Members can cancel free of charge and receive all of their points back in their account, plus a full refund of any associated taxes, fees and charges on the unused value of travel. For changes, members will pay only the difference in points, or receive a partial refund if their new itinerary requires fewer points. In addition, a difference in taxes, fees and charges may apply when changing an itinerary.

Some regional tourism board offers for hotel stays are even better than just getting a gift card!

 Back on July 20th we had a post that detailed tourism board offers that provide gift cards and/or discounts for stays at select hotels within those tourism board regions. From Vancouver to Quebec City and several  cities in-between you can receive $75 visa gift cards, $100 visa gift cards and discounts for dining just to name a few. What is good about some of these offers allow you to actually book the stay via the actual hotel chain so you may earn points, receive your elite status benefits and more. It appears Ottawa, Richmond & Vancouver are the cities where you cannot book direct with the hotel chain.

You can now redeem Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles for flights on Qatar Airways

 

This news was expected for August but it appears that it has come early and that is the ability to redeem Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles for flights on Qatar Airways. Although both airlines are part of the oneworld Alliance this partnership was done separately from Alaska Airlines adding in all the oneworld partners so you won't see some of the other oneworld airlines as part of the Mileage Plan redemption pool just yet.
