PC Financial World Elite Mastercard Review

The President's Choice Financial World Elite Mastercard is the flagship card for the PC Optimum program which is the loyalty program for the Loblaw family of stores that include Loblaw, Real Canadian Superstore and Shoppers Drug Mart to name the least. PC Financial is the banking branch of the Loblaw group of companies and they offer three different credit cards, all of which are unique in that they all don't have an annual fee attached to them.

Best Western Rewards: Stay one night and get a free night voucher (Possibly targeted)

 

Similar to the 1,000 bonus points offer and 2,000 bonus points offers we told you about over the past few weeks there is a another offer for Best Western Rewards members but this one awards a free night voucher when you complete just a one night stay at any Best Western branded hotel in the United States, Canada or the Caribbean by April 30. The free night voucher needs to be used by June 30, 2021 I believe it to be a targeted offer as the URL has ’email-campaign’ in it however the terms and conditions don’t explicitly state that it is for recipients of the email only.

It accepted my email address when I submitted the registration however the offer does not show up in the Special Offers section of my BWR account. In the end you should register for this offer and the other offers and just keep your fingers crossed you get that free night or the extra points on your next Best Western stay. If not, oh well and hope the next time you are targeted. Be sure to also register for any other Best Western offers that are available. You can find those offers here.

New Amex Offers for mobile wallet payments, buying gift cards for Oxford properties & ordering food from Pizza Nova

 
Several new Amex Offers offers became available over the past few days. The one that is making many people happy is one for bonus points or a statement credit for using a mobile payment option like Apple Pay, Google Pay etc. Thanks to my wife, Harry B. and Jeff W. who all alerted me to this offer. The mobile offer is showing up on a variety of Amex Cards and they do differ based on the cardmember.  The three known versions are listed below. There is also a new offer from Oxford for buying gift cards to use at their malls and an offer from Pizza Nova as well.

Today we see the return of Best Rewards’ 3,000 bonus points on all stays bonus. This is a targeted offer (you should get the email the sent to you on the 10th) but if not you can always try to register for it via our link below. The bonus is 3,000 points per stay booked between February 1 and 4 for stays completed by May 2.

CIBC's new welcome offers are here - Up to 35,000 points on the Aventura Cards and up to 10% cash back on the Dividend Cards

 

CIBC released new welcome bonus offers on several of their Aventura and Dividend Cards today. The base welcome bonus on the CIBC Aventura Visa Infinite and Gold cards has been bumped up to 20,000 Aventura Points. Those 20,000 points are awarded on your first purchase and then you can earn 1,250 bonus points per month in each month that you spend at least $1,000 on the card. This spend bonus equates to 15,000 points, add this to the 20,000 points and you have 35,000 points after your first year. They are also offering a rebate on the first year annual fee.  This reminds of the 35K offer on this card from February of last year albeit this one is better as you don't have to wait until your card anniversary to get the additional 15,000 points since you'll be getting them in 1,250 points increments over the year.

Breaking News: Canada to require mandatory testing and hotel quarantine upon arrival into Canada

 
Justin Trudeau announced further measures today in the fight against the Coronavirus Pandemic that will see all overseas travellers arriving into Canada to be tested at the airport and be required quarantine at a designated hotel for three days. All of this is at the expense of the traveller and expected to cost up to $2,000. If the traveller tests negative they can finish the mandatory 14 day quarantine period at home. If they test positive they will have to quarantine at a designated government facility. As this is a major undertaking the Government of Canada is once again limiting international flights to Calgary, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver just like we saw early on during the pandemic.
