November 3 Update: American AAdvantage slashes earning on British Airways & Iberia, new credit card offers, bonuses and more!

The start of the month means lots of news, bonuses, new credit card offers and more!

News, Tips & Tricks
Even though we technically took yesterday and the weekend off we still posted about some new credit card sign up offers and the return, albeit smaller, of the RBC Rewards to British Airways transfer bonus. You can find all that news in the Posts since our last update section!

If you credit British Airways or Iberia flights to American AAdvantage be prepared to earn less miles in 2016! As of February 1st there will be new AAdvantage mileage earning rates for flying on these two airlines and unless you are flying in Business Class, First Class or full fare premium economy you are going to earn less miles. The biggest hits are to the lower end of the economy class spectrum of course with Discount Economy going to 50% miles from 100% and Deep Discount dropping to 25% from 100%!! Find out more about the British Airways changes here and Iberia changes here. (Source One Mile at a Time)

Starwood Preferred Guest has launched member's only pricing (up to a 10% discount) for bookings made via Starwood. The discount is interesting and may be worthwhile for those who are not CAA/AAA members. If you are a CAA/AAA member you should be able to get a better discount with more favourable cancellation terms. Find out more here.

Croatia Airlines has expanded their code sharing with Air Canada. You will now find Croatia Airlines flight numbers on many of AC's transatlantic routes. Croatia Airlines is a Miles & More member airline (Lufthansa's Frequent Flyer Program) Since they are a Miles & More airline, Croatia Airlines does not have their own page on Rewards Canada as you can find all Miles & More offers on our M&M page. Voting is now closed for our Canada's Choice Top Travel Rewards Credit Cards. Thank you to all of you who took the time to vote. The results will be revealed soon!!

30% Transfer Bonus for RBC Rewards (Avion only) to British Airways Executive Club - November 1 to December 15, 15

Not only has British Airways been devaluing their program this year (early on it was long haul flights and just last week it was short haul in North America) but we are seeing smaller transfer bonuses to the program! Over most of summer you could transfer Amex Membership Rewards Points to British Airways Executive Club with a 25% when in the past it was 50%. Same with the famous RBC Avion transfer bonus, it has always been 50% for as long as we have run this website (well the website is older than the offer but it sure seems that long!) and now the twice annual bonus has been cut to only 30%.

This offer is for all of you RBC Avion cardholders (Infinite and Platinum) and runs from today to December 15th, which is the same length as the 50% offer earlier this year but roughly two weeks shorter than we normally see. Despite the BA devaluations, this transfers bonus is still a decent deal as  BA Avios are a great option for flights to Asia (via Cathay Pacific), short to medium haul within North America until February and even after that despite the increased redemption rate (short haul offer is great on Alaska Airlines, TAM or American Airlines see this post here) and even though huge surcharges are added to their UK/Europe redemptions they can still be an alright value because of this bonus transfer based on your spend with the credit card (see my post about Earn & Burn for an explanation). As always though with any frequent flyer program you will have to be flexible in your options when redeeming due to seat availability issues (ie it may be hard to get tickets to Europe in Summer etc.) so take this into consideration before transferring.

Overall in the light of the all changes, do you still find value in BA Executive Club or will you now be hesitant to convert based on the devaluations and the decrease in this bonus?

New TD First Class Visa Infinite offer: 20,000 Bonus Points, $150 Expedia for TD Credit and 50% off first year annual fee

LINK IS WORKING NOW!

The TD First Class Visa Infinite has a new sign up offer as of this month. Gone is the great 40,000 point and 1st year free sign up offer. The new offer is yet another obvious push for TD's partnership with Expedia. As you may or may not be aware this card was devalued on the redemption side when it was announced that travel bookings made outside of Expedia for TD would cost more points as of August 16th however that was further extended to November 15th. Now with this latest sign up offer you can see that push for Expedia as not only is that your best avenue for redemption but instead of offering 40,000 points you now get 20,000 points and a $150 Expedia for TD rebate. The value of which is worth more than the old 40,000 bonus points as those were worth $200 and now the combination of points and rebate is $250 but also gone is the first year free rebate. Now with a 50% rebate you have to pay $60 in the first year meaning your total sign bonus value is brought down to $190. So this offer is not as good as the previous one.

TD First Class Visa Infinite Card
• Receive a Welcome Bonus of 20,000 TD Points1 after you make your first purchase with your Card. Your Welcome Bonus is worth $100 in travel savings when you redeem2 it for travel booked either online or by phone through Expedia For TD.
• Make a minimum $150 travel purchase through Expedia For TD with your Card by June 15, 2016 and your Account will receive a $150 credit from Expedia For TD.
That's a total travel savings of $250 for travel booked through Expedia for TD3.
• 50% Fee Rebate (Primary Cardholder only) for the first year – that’s $60 in savings
• Offer Valid until Jan. 4, 2016
