Aeroplan is running a limited time promotion for their transfer miles options.
Until October 31st you can transfer miles to friends or family for 1.5 cents
per miles instead of the regular 2 cents per mile. Not a huge deal but if this
is something you have been planning to do this would be the time to do so. Nowhere
near as good as the US Airways share miles deal that came out today. With a
cost of only 1 cent per miles plus a $30 processing fee and 7.5% tax you can
essentially 'buy' US Airways miles for as little as 1.135 cents (transfer 50,000
miles get a 50,000 mile bonus). So if you want to transfer to a family member
or friend they will get the bonus but then you can always have them transfer
that bonus back to you to get another bonus. Each account is limited to earning
50,000 bonus miles during the promotion period.
The big news of today however was the return of the 50,000 Avios sign up bonus
for the RBC British Airways Visa Infinite Card. Read all about it here.
This was not the only card to see an increased bonus released today, the Starwood
Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express also saw an increase, not
as big as the RBC offer however. Read about the SPG offer here.
And finally the best bonus of the day if you can't take advantage of the US
Airways share miles deal is the Radisson 1 for 1 offer which was also covered
on the Rewards

RBC and British Airways bring back the 50,000 Avios sign up bonus for their Visa Infinite Card
When the new RBC British Airways Visa Infinite Card was launched back in March it came with an introductory offer of 50,000 Avios. That dropped down to the regular offering of 15,000 Avios after May 31. Well those of you who missed out on that offer and have be holding out can rejoice as it has returned!The sign up bonus remains the same at 15,000 Avios however 35,000 additional Avios will be awarded to any new cardholder who applies by Nov 30, 12 and spends $5,000 within the first 3 months of card membership.
What can you get for 50,000 Avios? A round-trip economy class flight to England on British Airways (+taxes/fees) from anywhere in Canada or 10 one way trips between Toronto and New York (+taxes/fees). There many other options as well including upgrading paid tickets to the next higher category on BA flights (i.e. Economy to Economy Plus; Economy Plus to Business etc)

Radisson 1 for 1: Stay 1 Night, get a free night award
Club Carlson has been on a tear for the past year in terms of promotions for their members. Whether it was the 50,000 points for a one night stay, triple points on all stays or any number of other promotions, the Club Carlson program has been right on top in terms of great promotions.
The latest offer released today is no different, very similar to the 50,000 point offers, the Radisson 1 for 1 promotion awards Club Carlson members a free night stay after completing a one night stay at any Radisson or Radisson Blue hotel in the U.S., Canada or the Caribbean by December 31st.
To qualify, you must be one of the first 50,000 members to register for the offer and book your stay between October 1st and 31st. After you complete your stay you will receive a free night award good at any Radisson or Radisson Blu hotel in the U.S., Canada or the Caribbean. It looks like Carlson may be learning from some of the other programs with this promo. In basic terms, the offer is no different than the 50,000 bonus point offer as 50,000 points will get you a free night at any Radisson or Radisson Blu, however those points can be held onto for as long as you want and they can be transferred to their airline partners. With the dated free night award, Carlson is banking on some of these free nights going unused and for those that are used, some will be booked with additional nights so the Carlson Hotel group will be able to recoup more of the costs associated with this promo. Smart move from the loyalty program for their books but what is nice for us consumers is that you will have at least a year to use the free night when compared to most other programs which typically only give you a few months to use any free night awards earned in a promotion.

Great Deal Alert: 15,000 Bonus Points at the Leipzig Marriott Hotel
So what is the offer? The offer is for 15,000 Bonus Marriott Rewards points
for a 2 night stay at the Leipzig Marriott Hotel in Germany. When I searched a
2 night stay, Oct 17-19 using the promo code M11 which is for the 15,000 points
the rate came up at EUR109 per night. The next closest rate was the AAA rate at
EUR132 and the standard rate was EUR139. So not only are you saving at least EUR23
per night you are also gaining the 15K points! I also tried November 14 -16 and
once again it was cheaper than all standard rares although the non-cancelable,
non-refundable, payment up front, book 21 days in advance rate was cheaper by
EUR 5 per night. In that case, I would still take the bonus points rate as the
return on 15,000 points is way better than the EUR10 savings and you don't have all the conditions
attached to it. |

Those 15,000 points will get you a free night in a Category 3 hotel or even a point saver at a Category 4 hotel which the Leipzing Marriott is set at. The last Wyndham Rewards promo just ended on September 13th so members have been without a systemwide promo for just over two weeks (how dare they do that!) Anyways, all kidding aside here are the details on Wyndham's latest systemwide promo:

Last day to buy Avianca TACA LifeMiles with a 100% Bonus
Today is the last day to take advantage of the 100% bonus on buying LifeMiles, the frequent flyer currency of Star Alliance member Avianca TACA.
As seen in my post earlier this month when the promo launched here is why this can be a good deal:
The biggest difference this time (and part of July's) is that Avianca TACA is now a member of the Star Alliance. So while before I used to tout this offer as a way to get Lufthansa business class from North America to Europe for $1800, you can now use the miles on any Star Alliance airline. The program also offers one way rewards at exactly half the round trip cost and does not charge fuel surcharges on award tickets.
With business class tickets to Europe going for 100,000 miles and Asia for 120,000 miles you can travel 'luxuriously' for a lot less with this deal. Another great feature of LifeMiles (in fact even better than buying all the miles) is their Cash + Part Points option. This option only requires that you have 40% of the points for a reward (so buy 40% during this 100% bonus period) and then you can buy the rest of the miles (the other 60%) at $12.75 per 1,000 miles or 1.275 cents per mile!
Of course there are always caveats to promos and the one condition for this promo is that you had to be a LifeMiles member before the promotion started. If you are not a member, don't fret, while you can't take advantage of the offer this time the 100% Buy Miles promotion seems to have become a regular staple from the LifeMiles programs just like it has with US Airways Dividend Miles.
