Today we see the return of a free miles offer we saw in July and November of 2014. Sixt is offering members of airberlin's topbonus program 1,000 free miles simply for registering on their site for a frequent renter offer from them.

When I signed up for the offer in July I did actually receive the miles, unlike the similar Miles&More offer which seems many people did not receive their miles.

To earn the 1,000 bonus topbonus miles simply register online by June 30th.


The registration also offer bonus miles on multiple Sixt rentals, if you complete 5+ rentals you'll earn 1,000 miles per rental, 10+ rentals earn 1,500 while 20+ earns 2,000. The latter two may be tough when the promotional period is only 30 days long.

We have fixed a small glitch on the main Rewards Canada website. Somehow about a dozen of our bonus offers pages reverted to our old website design and was listing offers from before our site update which meant those pages had offers listed from early 2013! Thanks to two of our readers for pointing this out in regards to our British Airways Executive Club page! We are happy to tell you that this has been fixed!

The sign up form is in German but is pretty easy to translate

Voila Hotel Rewards has made their tier status names a little more simpler, gone are the Greek names, in are your regular Gold, Silver, Platinum. For members who have elite status with VHR, Phoenix is now Silver tier, Orion is now Gold tier and Centaurus is now Platinum tier. I kind of liked being Centaurus since it was different but Platinum will do!

Aer Lingus has announced that they will launch direct Toronto - Dublin service in April of 2014. Why is this significant? Well Aer Lingus is a oneworld airline and is a great way to redeem your British Airways Avios for Transatlantic travel. Aer Lingus has some of the lowest fuel surcharges out there which means you can redeem 40,000 Avios for a round trip economy class ticket or 80,000 Avios for Business Class and incur a lot less charges than similar flights on British Airways. As Lucky from One Mile at a Time points out you will probably only pay about $150 in fuel surcharges, taxes and fees for an Aer Lingus Business Class redemption whereas that same redemption for a BA flight would incur ~$1000 in fees and taxes. This is great news for all you American Express Gold Rewards and Platinum cardholders, RBC Avion and British Airways Visa cardholders! True Aer Lingus' cabin product is probably not up to par with British Airways but also according to Lucky it ain't half bad!
