You can definitely tell that American Express has returned to the business of acquiring new customers in 2021. After spending most of 2020 focusing on existing cardmembers rather than acquisition we have seen Amex increase the welcome offers on many of their consumer cards and now today we see their three proprietary small business cards get major boosts for new customers! Those three cards are the American Express Business Edge™ Card , Business Platinum Card® from American Express and the American Express® Business Gold Rewards Card
American Express Business Edge™ Card - Up to 57,000 points
The best small business card in Canada sees a very healthy increase in its welcome bonus from 42,000 points to up to 57,000 points! The boost comes in the initial bonus in your first three months of spending, now you'll earn 45,000 Welcome Bonus points when you charge $5,000 in purchases to your Card in your first three months of Cardmembership instead of the previous 30,000 points. Then you can earn an extra 1,000 Membership Rewards points for each monthly billing period in which you spend $3,000 in purchases on your Card. This could add up to 12,000 extra points in a year. The card has an annual fee of $99 and with a minimum value of the points being 1 cent each for travel that 57,000 points are worth no less than $471.
Business Platinum Card® from American Express - 75,000 points
One of only a few ultra premium business cards in Canada, the Business Platinum card sees a 25,000 point increase to its welcome bonus. Now you can earn 75,000 points when you charge $7,000 in purchases to your Card in your first three months of Cardmembership. The card carries a $499 annual fee but don't let that dissuade as it has perks galore that justify that fee and you can convert points directly to Aeroplan and British Airways at a 1:1 ratio. Don't forget either that this card earns 1.25 Membership Rewards points per dollar on all eligible spending.
American Express® Business Gold Rewards Card - 50,000 points
The final card in the three cards to see an increased offer is the Business Gold Rewards card. It sees its welcome offers jump to 50,000 points from the previous 30,000 points. With a $250 annual fee that means you'll get no less than $250 in value out of the welcome bonus on this card now!

Edge stays at $5,000, Biz Plat stays at $7,000 and the Biz Gold remains at $5,000! Normally we see a requirement for more spending to get a higher bonus and that's not the case this time.
