Thanks to Trusty Suitcase for alerting us to this one! Right now you can find lie flat business class seats on Air Canada's flights between Toronto and Cancun for select dates in February 2022. These flights are currently scheduled to be operated with Airbus A330-300 aircraft that feature Air Canada's lie flat business class seats.
Editors Note:
Rewards Canada does not encourage non-essential travel at this time but
as part of our mission of delivering a wide breadth of loyalty program
news, bonuses and tips on earning and redeeming we do want to present
options for our readers who may be interested is such news as this and
for planning for future travel!
Here is an example of the current availability:

Redeeming 97,000 points for $3932 of flights works out to 4 cents per point which is a pretty decent redemption! If you earned those points on an Aeroplan credit card that means at least a 4% return on your base spending and more than that for any accelerated spend categories.
Also note the redemption rates shown are also the maximum amount of points that a base member would have to spend - they do not take into account the point discounts afforded to Aeroplan credit card holders and/or those who are elite members.
One can hope that by February of next year most travel will have returned to normal! Primarily speaking that is when you return from somewhere outside of the country and not have to quarantine back in Canada.
The good news with being an Aeroplan reward ticket is that the cancellation policy is quite consumer friendly so you could book this and cancel should things not open up or work out for you. Bookings made up to May 31, 2021 can be changed or canceled free of charge and hopefully that date will be extended further as we have seen them do over the past year. If for some reason they do not extend it, Aeroplan still allows you to cancel up to 2 hours prior to departure time but you will be subject to fees of up to $175 per ticket.
Technically speaking since we have the updated news that Air Canada Buddy Passes can be exchanged for Aeroplan points based on your card application date you could still apply for a TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card or the CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card and have 50,000 points to utilize towards this redemption after you convert the Buddy Pass to 30,000 Aeroplan points. At the time of posting this article you need to apply for a card that has a Buddy Pass by April 30 to be able to convert it but word on the street is that will be extended.
I would also recommend reading our post How to earn over 148,000 Aeroplan points for free* so that you can see how you can earn enough points for earning even more points for award options like these!
FYI here's another alert we posted earlier this month: Aeroplan Availability Alert: Business Class on Turkish Airlines out of Toronto for up to 4 people for Fall 2021/Winter 2022 travel
