BMO has decided to keep their current offers of 3,000 Bonus AIR MILES for the BMO AIR MILES World Elite MasterCard and 800 Bonus AIR MILES for the No Fee BMO AIR MILES MasterCard. These however have become web only offers now and are not available through the call centre or in branch.


For nearly two years now Hilton HHonors has not had once a year award chart updates rather they went to a more fluid style of hotels moving up and down award night categories with updates coming out nearly every month. The latest changes came out over the Christmas break and included 4 hotels in Canada. One is a new listing, two go down a category while only one sees an increase:

In mid December we announced the new IHG systemwide promotion 'Accelerate' for IHG Rewards Club members that offers 30,000+ bonus points (or 2 free nights if you are new member) but what if you don't utilize IHG Rewards Club and may have just one or two stays coming up? Air France KLM Flying Blue Promo Awards - Save 25% on Business Class award tickets out of Edmonton, Montreal & Vancouver

The newest set of Air France KLM's Promo Awards are now out and available for booking. We have provided lots of coverage on the Promo Awards before but a quick reminder of what they are. They are discounts on award tickets for travel on Air France, KLM and occasionally other Flying Blue airlines like Air Europa and Kenya Airways.  The discount ranges from 25 to 50% off the regular amount of miles required. As you can see just by the discount this can be a very good offer if you get 50% off for Business Class! Some highlights for this month are 50% off Business Class between Europe and Rio, Bogota, Brasilia and Cali,  50% off some Economy and Premium Economy routes between Europe and Asia and more. This month has an OK showing for Canada with 3 cities having promo awards at only 25% off in Business Class. Not great but not bad if you were planning on such a redemption this month. The three cities that are included are Edmonton, Montreal and Vancouver.

Once again! Big Air Miles Bonuses for Gift Card Purchases at Safeway! Up to a $22 return per card (until Dec 31, 15)

As we've mentioned since November we love this time of year as it is big bonus time for Gift Cards at Safeway! We've already seen multiple offers but they weren't as good as the December 2014 offer of 70 AIR MILES per $50 card until now! This is the best offer we have seen yet, 75 BONUS AIR MILES per $50 card! With this offer you'll earn 1.5 miles per dollar on these cards or if you work the other way, we value AIR MILES at 11 to 15 cents a piece so you are essentially earning $8.25 to $11.25 with each card. However if you look at our post about hacking the Air Miles program you'll know that you can actually get value of over 30 cents per mile on car rentals which means you can technically earn ~$22 on each these gift cards!

Hint: Print multiple copies and go through the till multiple times if you want to buy more than one card for the same retailer!

I bought many cards during the last few go rounds for a lot of bonus Air Miles plus the double Membership Rewards points as I purchased them on my American Express Gold Rewards card which awards 2 points per dollar spent at grocery stores.
