AIR MILES loses another major partner - Staples will no longer participate in the program as of July 1

Two weeks to the day of the news of AIR MILES losing Sobeys, Safeway etc. as partners comes news of another big loss. We just received an email from Staples Canada announcing they will be leaving the AIR MILES program as of July 1st, 2022.

A question I am starting to see more of right now is: when is Amex's Shop Small promotion returning? We've seen the annual Shop Small promotion already launch this month in France, Germany and the U.K.. So will Canada be next? Hopefully it will be! Over the past few years here it has launched as early as June 24 but as late as July 17 as well. American Express Canada has not given us any indication yet as to if and when the Shop Small promotion will launch but our fingers are crossed we will see it over the coming weeks. We have been advised that the current welcome bonus offer on the Scotiabank Gold American Express card will now end on June 29 instead of July 4. The offer provides a bonus of up to 45,000 Scene+ points. At this point in time we have not yet been told what the new offer will be as of June 30. However with the revamp of the Platinum Card and the Red Amex cards from Scotia happening in June we feel there will be a focus on those card rather than the Gold so if I was to guess I would say the offer on the Gold will either remain the same or be lowered. Buy World of Hyatt points with a 30% bonus and how to use it to save on your summer hotel stays

Hyatt has come out with yet another buy points offer and this time they have returned to a bonus. When you buy 5,000 or more points in one transaction they will give a 30% bonus. This is a decent bonus if you need points right now or want to save on some more expensive summer stays with Hyatt. The price per point with a 30% bonus is about 1.85 cents (US$) which is higher than the 1.68 cents we saw during the last promotion with a 30% discount. 

Air Canada to launch flights to Bangkok and Mumbai

Air Canada has announced a new four times per week flight to Bangkok, Thailand and the resumption of flights to Mumbai. Both routes will be winter seasonal with Toronto to Mumbai (via London) launching on October 29 and Vancouver to Bangkok starting up on December 1.

This offer is good for stays until August 21, 2022 and this time it is awarded on up to 3 nights instead of 2 nights.
