Koho which provides prepaid credit cards has switched to issuing Mastercard cards as of this week instead of Visa cards. This means you'll be able use it at places such as Costco. New users who signup for a KOHO account will be receiving a Mastercard from this point forward. Existing KOHO users will have the option to switch their existing card to a Mastercard before October 2022. A new KOHO Physical Mastercard will be sent to the user within 10 business days once they receive the requests. CIBC AC Conversion Visa - Load up to 10 currencies and earn 1% cash back until April 30

The limited time 1% cash back earning on CIBC's AC Conversion Visa has been extended to the end of April 2022.  This card is a prepaid Visa credit card option offered by CIBC and Air Canada that has been around now for quite a few years and is somewhat unique in that you can load multiple currencies onto to card at once to use when traveling to various parts of the world.

Here's a new one - KOHO targeting gamers with 5% cash back

Here's a new angle for accelerated card earn, KOHO the prepaid Visa card issuer has come out with a KOHO Gamer account. This new account will award 5% cash back on purchases made via gaming platforms. To the best of our knowledge this is the first time gaming platforms are being featured as a category to earn more. True there might be some overlap from other cards that offer accelerators on streaming and/or digital services but I don't how many of those cover Playstation, Xbox, Twitch, Steam and Nintendo.

Mogo card to replace its 2% Bitcoin cashback with a good for the planet tree planting reward

Today Mogo announced a major change and shift in the rewards being offered on their MogoCard. Currently the card earns 2% Bitcoin cashback as the reward for your everyday spending but that will come to a close on October 1st. From August 25th onward, on Mogo will instead plant one tree for every transaction made on the card.

Mogo Platinum Prepaid Visa earn rate will be bumped up to a flat 2% as of June 1

 

Great news in the world of prepaid credit cards - Mogo will be increasing the cash back rate for their Mogo Visa* Platinum Prepaid Card to a flat 2% as of June 1. Currently the card earns 1% Bitcoin cashback on purchases in Canada and 2% for foreign transactions. For anyone who has this card or if you are planning on getting it, all of your purchases will now earn an extra 1%.
