Here's your Rewards Canada Daily update! Your daily dose (or near daily dose) of loyalty program, credit card and travel news, bonuses, deals and more. This update is brought to you by the HSBC World Elite Mastercard which is currently offering a welcome bonus of up to 100,000 bonus points worth $500, has no foreign transaction fees and no annual fee in the first year! 

Looks like we might have a challenger to the famous StayVancouver promotions that awards Amex gift cards for each night you stay at hotels booked through them. While we have seen many tourism boards provide gift card/prepaid card offers most of them outside of the StayVancouver offer are limited to one card regardless of how many nights you stay. Well it looks like Tourism Kingston wants to challenge StayVancouver as their latest incentive provides a $100 Visa Gift PER NIGHT not per stay when you book at least 2 nights and they award it for up to 5 nights for $500 in total gift cards.  

Looks like there are 15 or so hotels participating and the awesome thing about Kingston's offer is that you book direct with the hotels which means you can earn points, receive your elite status benefits and more.  Also note the VISA gift cards are geo-restricted to Kingston and can only be used at businesses registered and based in Kingston that accept VISA. We received a press release yesterday from Canada Jetlines announcing the delivery of their first Airbus A320 aircraft! So it looks like this airline that has been in the works for many years is finally coming to fruition. It does appear they are moving away from the Ultra Low Cost Carrier model and focusing on being a charter airline serving sun destinations in the U.S., Caribbean and Mexico. The first flight is slated for spring 2022 out of Toronto. In all likelihood they will not have their own frequent flyer program but you should have no problem utilizing points from proprietary credit card reward programs for flights on Canada Jetlines (at least those program that let you do your own bookings) Learn more here.
