One of the many things that Air Canada's Aeroplan has done well during the course of the past years during the pandemic is provide no shortage of offers for members to earn, keep and even extend their elite status. Today the program revealed three more offers that will help members get a boost to their elite status qualification for 2023.
The first offer is by far the easiest to achieve as you don't even have to fly or travel or depending on how you approach, you even have to spend any money at all. The big caveat here for the first offer is that you must already hold or achieve status in the Aeroplan program by the end of this promotion which is April 30, 2022. Non-status members are not eligible for this first part but are free to earn with parts two and three.
Part 1: Members can get a one-time bonus of 5,000 SQM, 5 SQS, and $500 SQD when they do any three of the following by April 30, 2022:
- Link their Aeroplan and Starbucks Rewards;
- Link their Uber or Uber Eats with your Aeroplan account;
- Earn points with the Aeroplan eStore, LCBO, Starbucks, Uber, Uber Eats or a car or hotel booking;
- Redeem points for any merchandise or gift card at the Aeroplan eStore or for a car or hotel booking;
- Hold a Core or Premium Aeroplan Co-brand credit card through at least April 30, 2022. The entry level credit cards from TD and CIBC are ineligible, however the new U.S. Chase co-brand credit card does qualify
As you can see, if you can complete or even already have 1, 2 and 5, that is the link with Starbucks, Uber and hold a core or premium Aeroplan Co-Brand card the bonus SQM, SQS and SQD are yours. Don't worry if you have already linked your accounts prior to this promotion as those will count so long as they are still linked on the promotion end date. Say however you don't have a credit card this is still an easy offer to achieve, complete 1 and 2 and then load your Starbucks account with at least $50 to earn Aeroplan points or shop at LCBO (if you are in Ontario) or online at the eStore to earn some points etc. and you earn the bonus.
Part 2: All Aeroplan Members can get 100% bonus SQM, SQS, and SQD on Air Canada-operated flights (including Air Canada Express and Air Canada Rouge) in Economy Standard fare or higher when members book with cash. (This applies for any travel between January 1 and April 30, 2022, regardless of when the reservation was made. No registration is required.)
For some of you if you have lots of flights planned over the coming few months this is big and you can stand to really boost your SQM, SQS and SQD balances with this doubling of them. Just make sure your flights are booked in Economy Standard or higher.
Part 3: All Aeroplan Members can get up to 5,000 bonus SQM and 50% bonus SQD when you purchase an Air Canada Vacations package. (Travel must be completed by April 30, 2022 and is retroactive to January 1)
This last one is probably the least achievable unless of course you already have or will be traveling on a package. Do note travel has to be done by April 30. If you depart before then but return after you will not receive the bonus.
Wrapping it up
It's great to see Aeroplan to continue to support both its elite and non-elite members with offers to help them achieve or re-qualify for status faster. Travel for many has still not returned to what it was before the pandemic so to be able to pick up extra elite status qualifying SQM, SQS, and SQD is very welcome as most likely we will no longer see airlines and hotels extending status automatically beyond this year.
