Welcome to the first daily update of November!
News, Tips & Tricks
Great news for SkyTeam flyers in Southern B.C., Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members and the traveling public in general. Air France has
announced new service between Vancouver and Paris starting on March 29,
2015. The new flights will operate 3x per week initially and then move
to 5x weekly over summer. The flights are already bookable at airfrance.ca. The Air France KLM group are definitely making
inroads in Canada as just a few weeks ago KLM announced Edmonton
service and between both airlines they already serve Vancouver, Calgary,
Toronto, Montreal (and Ottawa with their exclusive bus service). This
may also be a route that we'll see some promo awards on in the first few
months of service. We should know this at the start of December when
the next ones are released. Source Airlineroute.net
Schedule
AF374 CDG1035 – 1150YVR 772 x24
AF379 YVR1400 – 0835+1CDG 772 x24
Alaska Airlines is making a serious cut to their
service between Vancouver and Los Angeles. The route will be cut from 3
flights per day to 1 flight per day as of January 2015. This comes as
American and Delta expand service on this route. (Source: Airlineroute.net)

Now if only westjet would join skyteam ...
ReplyDeleteThat's what I've been saying for years! I remember long ago when many people said WestJet should join oneworld but I kept saying SkyTeam as it is a much better fit for WestJet and for Canadians! But it looks like WestJet is going to be like Alaska Airlines and not join one alliance but partner with airlines from various alliances.
ReplyDeleteits too bad you can't earn status on DL or AA or partner airlines by flying on WS flights. (just redeemable AA miles)
ReplyDeleteAgreed, hopefully that changes in the future now that WestJet has elite tiers
