I was wondering when Canadian American Express cards would start to have travel related Amex Offers as we have seen dozens emerge south of the border over the past few months. I can stop wondering now as American Express Canada revealed four new offers today for hotel stays in Alberta, B.C., Ontario and Quebec.
The offer is the same for each province in that when you spend at least $250 at a hotel or hotels in each province you'll receive a $50 statement credit. Each offer is separate meaning you can earn the credit up to four times if you have qualifying purchases across all four provinces. The offer is available on all American Express cards and each are capped at the first 25,000 cardmembers who register so you'll want to make sure you go register for these offers right away. You can find the offer in the Amex Offers section of your online account or on the Amex app. If for some reason they don't show up and/or you want to register supplementary cards you can visit this page on American Express' site to register your card(s) manually.
Here are the four offers:

- Spend at least $250 in qualifying purchases using your registered Card directly at eligible hotel merchants located in Ontario by 31/10/2021 and earn a one-time $50 statement credit. Registration cap applies. Terms apply.

Quebec by 31/10/2021 and earn a one-time $50 statement credit.

You'll want to know that the $250 in qualifying purchases do not have to be done in once purchase - the total is cumulative so you can multiple lower priced hotel stays over the promotional period and still get the $50 credit once you hit that $250 level. And speaking of the promotional period - it's quite a big window - you have until October 31 to have meet the $250 in qualifying purchases for each province.
Update from American Express on what constitutes eligible hotels:
There are more than 10,000 eligible hotel merchants across the 4 provinces included in the offer, including hotels, hostels, motels, resorts, bed and breakfasts, and ski lodges. Camping, timeshares, short-term rentals, banquets, events, and vacation packages are not included.
Cardmembers must pay the eligible hotel directly using their registered Card, including by phone, through their mobile application or online through the hotel site (e.g. upon booking a hotel stay or upon check-in or check-out), to be eligible for these offers. Cardmembers will not earn a statement credit if they prepay for their hotel stay with a third party, such as an online travel agent, travel website, online home stays website, or prepay the hotel as part of a vacation package.
