Hyatt Hotels let us know that they will be dropping requirements to achieve or requalify for World of Hyatt Elite status during the 2021 calendar year by 50%. This is the requirement for stays during next year so that you can have status for March 2022 and beyond as current status members have already had their status extended to February 2022. Of course if you don't have status and hit the qualification mark(s) during 2021 you'll get that status sooner.
Here are the Reduced 2021 World of Hyatt elite status qualification requirements:
- Discoverist - Stay five Tier-Qualifying Nights or earn 12,500 Base Points
- Explorist - Stay 15 Tier-Qualifying Nights or earn 25,000 Base Points
- Globalist - Stay 30 Tier-Qualifying Nights or earn 50,000 Base Points
As a reminder here are the benefits associated with each elite level:
This is some great news from Hyatt and we are happy to see them provide the lower requirements for another year as travel in 2021 is still a major unknown. I figure that at least for the first half of 2021 travel will still not be on many people's radars but with the hope that further lockdowns and vaccinations curb this pandemic that the latter half of 2021 will be different. And this is what I believe Hyatt is thinking as well so that if people are only picking up travel in the latter half of 2021 we should let them achieve status with half the requirements.
