May 1 Update: Air Canada Maple Leaf lounge coming to Saskatoon, WestJet adding 737 MAX to Hawaii, 50% Bonus Aeroplan Miles on 1st Rocketmiles booking

Air Canada announced today that they will be opening a Maple Leaf Lounge in Saskatoon! Great news for Air Canada frequent flyers(or even those who buy Maple Leaf lounge access. The lounge is slated to open this fall. (Source Air Canada

Air Canada's Maple Leaf Lounge at Skyxe Saskatoon Airport will be located post security near gate 5. It will be 137 square meters (1,474 square feet) with seat capacity for 40 customers. Additional details will be announced when the lounge opens.

 Also on the lounge front Alaska Airlines opened up their first lounge in the Eastern U.S. yesterday. Their newest lounge is located in Terminal 7 of JFK airport and is also a Priority Pass lounge which should make many of our readers happy! WestJet will be introducing their 737 Max aircraft to their Hawaii routes this coming winter season just like Air Canada is. The first schedule update shows WestJet starting Calgary-Kahului Maui earlier for the season with 4x weekly flights beginning Oct 28 and as of Dec 8 the route will go to 8 times a week being split evenly with 4 flights on the 737 and 4 with the 767. Nice to see this Maui boost as the less than daily service we have seen over past winters made for very full and very expensive flights. (Source RoutesOnline)
